Setelah sekian lama nggak nongol di blog akhirnya hari ini nulis juga postingan walaupun hanya kata2 sederhana moga bisa buat semangat agar gak pernah telat posting lagi ya. "GA (Google Adsense)" mungkin itulah salah satu yang selama ini buat saya males ngeblog hehehe...setelah dapetin pos dari USA buat syarat dapet sesuatu ga taunya udah kena banned dulu.nasib...nasib....Tapi ya udah hidup lanjut terus.

Qualification for the competition is decided by competitor teams placing in their domestic league championship, on a quota system, with countries with stronger domestic league competition allocated more teams. Clubs that play in stronger domestic leagues also enter at later stages of the competition.
For example, the three strongest domestic leagues, as rated by UEFA, place their champions and runners-up directly into the group phase, and their third-and fourth-place teams enter at the third qualifying round.
There is one exception to this rule: the current Champions League titleholder is an automatic qualifier for the group stage, regardless of where it finished in its domestic league.
However, until 2005 if the Champions League winner was from a country that was entitled to send four clubs to the competition, it was not assured of entry unless it was in the top four. This issue came to a head after English club Liverpool won the 2004-05 competition. Liverpool finished fifth in the FA Premier League, one spot outside automatic qualifying position.
After Liverpool won the Champions League, The FA was forced to choose whether to send Liverpool to the 2005-06 competition at the expense of the team that finished fourth - namely Everton, the other major club in Liverpool. As the FA had already decided that the top four Premiership clubs would qualify for the competition despite Liverpool's victory, they decided to continue lobbying for a fifth Champions League place following this win. After this FA decision, UEFA president Lennart Johansson went on record as saying that the Champions League winner should be able to defend its title regardless of its league position. Prior to 2005, if a fourth placed team was denied a Champions League place for this reason, it was granted a place in the UEFA Cup.

UEFA also said that the rules have been amended and should the situation arise again, the title holders will replace the 4th placed team in the domestic league (with that team being entered into the UEFA Cup, as happened to Zaragoza in 2000). This ensures that in future, the number of teams from every country will remain stable.

Google's latest project might end up to be very unpopular with ISPs. The new Google Measurement Lab enables users to see whether their ISPs are slowing down certain types of traffic on purpose.

The set of tools was developed by Google in partnership with the New America Foundation, the PlanetLab Consortium and academic researchers
Google's Vint Cerf and Stephen Stuart write on the official company blog:
“ By running these tools, users will get information about their connection and provide researchers with valuable aggregate data. Like M-Lab itself these tools are still in development, and they will only support a limited number of simultaneous users at this initial stage.”
“No matter your views on net neutrality and ISP network management practices, everyone can agree that Internet users deserve to be well-informed about what they're getting when they sign up for broadband, and good data is the bedrock of sound policy. Cable companies have been claiming for a long time now that a new way of Internet speed management was needed in order to ensure that everyone a fair treatment. Last year, Comcast was caught playing around with its customers' connection speeds, an action aimed specifically at those running BitTorrent. Eventually, the company had to give up the practice and set a monthly data cap.
In the mean time, Cox Communications announced its own set of plans, united under the name of “congestion management”

Adobe Flash Arrives On Mobile Phones

Adobe aims to conquer new territory: the company announced the availability of the Adobe Flash Lite 3.1 Distributable Player on mobile phones.

The first models to support the new player will be the Nokia S60 and Windows Mobile devices, Adobe announced at the GSMA Mobile World Congress. Interesting enough, nobody said anything about availability on Apple's iPhone.

“The Distributable Player enables a direct distribution of our mobile player similar to the distribution model for Flash Player on the desktop,” said David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president, Platform Business Unit at Adobe. “With this new runtime and Adobe’s popular authoring tools, Adobe Flash Platform developers can unleash their creativity, develop new, innovative games and other mobile applications, and reach a much broader audience across screens and different platforms.”

At present time, the Distributable Player supports over-the-air downloads for consumers in the United States, U.K., Spain, Italy and India, with more countries to be added over time. No waiting list has been unveiled.

In addition, Adobe also announced the Flash Lite Developer Challenge, a development contest featuring a great prize of $30,000. The competition begins at 12:00 GMT on 16 February 2009 and will end at 12:00 GMT on 31 May 2009.

Write a list of the reasons why you want to stop, and keep them with you. Refer to them when tempted to light up. You may wish to read a separate leaflet in this series called 'Smoking - The Facts'. This gives the reasons why smoking is so harmful and lists the benefits of stopping.

Set a date for stopping, and stop completely. (Some people prefer the idea of cutting down gradually. However, research has shown that if you smoke less cigarettes than usual, you are likely to smoke more of each cigarette, and nicotine levels remain nearly the same. Therefore, it is usually best to stop once and for all from a set date.)

Tell everyone that you are giving up smoking. Friends and family often give support and may help you. Smoking by others in the household makes giving up harder. If appropriate, try to get other household members who smoke, or friends who smoke, to stop smoking at the same time. A 'team' effort may be easier than going it alone.

Get rid of ashtrays, lighters, and all cigarettes.

Be prepared for some withdrawal symptoms. When you stop smoking, you are likely to get symptoms which may include: nausea (feeling sick), headaches, anxiety, irritability, craving, and just feeling awful. These symptoms are caused by the lack of nicotine that your body has been used to. They tend to peak after 12-24 hours, and then gradually ease over 2-4 weeks.
Anticipate a cough. It is normal for a 'smokers cough' to get worse when you stop smoking (as the airways 'come back to life'). Many people say that this makes them feel worse for a while after stopping smoking and makes them tempted to restart smoking. Resist this temptation! The cough usually gradually eases.

Be aware of situations in which you are most likely to want to smoke. In particular, drinking alcohol is often associated with failing in an attempt to stop smoking. You should consider not drinking much alcohol in the first few weeks after stopping smoking. Try changing your routine for the first few weeks. Don't despair if you fail. Examine the reasons why you felt it was more difficult at that particular time. It will make you stronger next time. On average, people who eventually stop smoking have made 3 or 4 previous attempts.

Stop Smoking Clinics are available on the NHS. They have a good success in helping people to stop smoking. Your doctor may refer you to one if you are keen to stop smoking but are finding it difficult to do so.

Various medicines can increase your chance of quitting. These include Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) which comes as gums, sprays, patches, tablets, lozenges, and inhalers. You can buy NRT without a prescription. Also, medicines called bupropion (trade name 'Zyban') and varenicline (trade name 'Champix) can help. These are available on prescription. See separate leaflets called 'Smoking - Nicotine Replacement Therapy', 'Smoking - Helping to Stop with Bupropion' and 'Smoking - Helping to Stop with Varenicline'.

Nokia Completes The Acquisition Of Symbian Limited

The Symbian phone OS maker is now completely under the Nokia corporate umbrella.

The Finnish company announced today that it has completed its offer to acquire Symbian Limited. According to Nokia, all conditions to the company's offer to acquire Symbian Limited have been satisfied and it has received valid acceptance of greater than 99.9% of the total Symbian shares still not in Nokia's pocket.

As it follows, all Symbian employees are going to officially become Nokia staffers starting on February 1, 2009.

With the deal now closed, Nokia plans to move further in establishing the Symbian Foundation, as announced on June 24, 2008.

“The broad support we have received has confirmed that our vision, announced back in June, is shared by many organizations both within and beyond the mobile industry,” said Lee Williams, nominated Executive Director for the Symbian Foundation. “When the foundation begins operations, expected during the first half of 2009, it will have a uniquely strong ecosystem of developers, manufacturers and network operators, all committed to building an open platform to set the future of mobile free.”

Following the close of that acquisition, Nokia will contribute Symbian OS and S60 software to the foundation. Sony Ericsson and Motorola will contribute technology from UIQ and DOCOMO and Fujitsu promised to add its MOAP(S) assets.

The contributed software will be available for all foundation members under a royalty-free license, from the foundation’s first day of operations (the first half of 2009).

The Symbian Foundation also includes names such as T&T, LG Electronics, NTT DOCOMO, Samsung, S, ST-NXP Wireless, Texas Instruments and Vodafone.

Verizon Employees Access Obama's Phone Account, Get Fired

Curiosity might've killed the cat, but this time it got several Verizon employees fired.

Verizon would not disclose the number of its now-former employees, but admitted the fact that President-Elect Barack Obama’s personal cell phone account had been accessed and viewed. The company's PR was quick to issue a short statement:

“We apologize to President-Elect Obama and will work to keep the trust our customers place in us every day.”

"All employees who have accessed the account -- whether authorized or not -- have been put on immediate leave, with pay," said Wireless president and CEO Lowell McAdam. "As the circumstances of each individual employee's access to the account are determined, the company will take appropriate actions. Employees with legitimate business needs for access will be returned to their positions, while employees who have accessed the account improperly and without legitimate business justification will face appropriate disciplinary action."

The statement also says that the account in question had been inactive for several months.

In addition, it appears that the device tied to the account was not a smartphone designed for e-mail or other data services, but only a simple voice flip-phone.

This is the second time that Obama's data has been checked by unauthorized personnel. The first case dates from this March, when 3 employees of State Department contractors have been caught accessing the passport files of Barrack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain. All three politicians were in the middle of their presidential campaigns at that time.

NASA Sends Worm Up In Space

Passwords shall be changed on the International Space Station, due to the discovery of a computer worm trained to gather password and send them to its creator.

According to NASA, the worm was found on several laptops aboard the International Space Station, leading everyone to believe that it sprea itself via the station's internal network or via a thumb drive.

The malware was identified as W32.TGammima.AG, a worm originally designed to steal passwords for online games.

It seems that this is not the first incident of its kind. NASA admitted that security slip ups do occur every once in a while, although they continue to be rather rare:

"This is not the first time we have had a worm or a virus," a NASA spokesman told Wired News. "It's not a frequent occurrence, but this isn't the first time."

And it won't be the last time, that's for sure. Good thing that the infected machines were not running critical processes. Or so NASA claims.

Banking Trojan Poses As Firefox Plugin

Check your Firefox Plugins folder and see if you don't happen to have an unwanted Trojan guest. Chrome users should follow the example, as the malware was reported to affect them as well.

The latest IT threat at your internet banking bears the name of PWS.ChromeInject.A, Romanian security firm Bitdefender reports .

The malware poses as a Firefox plugin and was designed to harvest baking login information every time the user enters certain sites included in the Trojan's list. Collected data is later sent to a server somewhere in Russia.

According to Bitdefender, a quick check in the Firefox Plugins folder will be enough to reveal the infection. Users who do find one of the following files should definitely do their banking on another computer until they clean up the infected one:

-"%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\chrome\chrome\content\browser.js"

The new attack is quite new, with reports claiming that infections are at a “very low” level.

Internet Explorer 8 Moves To 2009

The next Internet Explorer 8 beta will arrive during the first quarter of 2009, followed by the final release.

The information popped up a in a blog post penned by IE general manager Dean Hachamovitch. Apparently, Microsoft needs more time to analyze all the feedback gathered from every available source:

"Since the release of Beta 2, the team has been absorbed in the data we get from real people about the product.[...]over 20 million IE sessions and hundreds of hours of usability lab sessions.[...] we have scrutinized thousands of threads from user forums and examined the issues that people are raising (not to mention all the times users opt to “Report a Webpage Problem…”). We have also spent hundreds of hours listening and answering questions in meetings with partners and other important organizations.”

Back in July, Microsoft's Bill Veghte had promised that the final version of Internet Explorer 8 would be ready by the end of the year. It seems that Microsoft prefers to be as cautious as possible about this release.

And cautious they should be. The next Internet Explorer version will come packed with CSS 2.1 and HTML 5.0 support. The cherry on the top will be a tag that would enable the correct display of older sites, designed to work with previous IE versions.
